What is Dollars for Scholars of St. Petersburg®? Dollars for Scholars of St. Petersburg® is a locally operated and supported, non-profit, tax exempt scholarship foundation. The thrift store generates funds for scholarships, awards, and trains students in the day-to-day operations of a small business. Dollars for Scholars Thrift Store is listed for Florida's Pinellas county Bright Future Scholarship program for their donation of service hours. We offer retail sales, customer service and market training to our volunteers for them to list on their resumes. In addition, the store is a host training center for AARP. Dollars Scholars Thrift Store's dual mission is to assist Pinellas County residents in their endeavor to acquire a quality education. Our organization is operated by an all-volunteer Board of Directors and its purpose is to expand access to educational opportunities by involving and assisting our community in the support of students and in the encouragement of educational achievement.
